| Wednesday, 8 September 2010 09:34 Hi—Welcome to the Guestbook. I appreciate hearing from you, and thank those of you in the past who have taken the time to leave messages. I will respond periodically. Many of you have appreciated the quality of the web site itself, which feels very good since so much time and energy has gone into it. Others have commented favorably on recordings, live performances, or my lecture-demonstration on the psychology of improvisation. I’m touched that my work has meant something to you. I encourage you to sign up for my electronic newsletter, which has been going out about every 4-6 months (see Contact page) and allows me to comment in detail on recent activities.
The software embodied in this Guestbook is designed to defeat spam, but we all know it is not a perfect world. I apologize in advance for the occasional offensive posting that may break through. It will be removed as soon as possible.
My best to you all, |

I caught 2 of your sets at Monterey, and I have never heard a trio play like one marvelous organism before. You have the whole history of music at your fingertips. Bravo!! |

Hey Denny-- Your trio killed me at the Litchfield Jazz Festival in August. I bought "Slickrock" and "Solo Voyage" there. Both CDs really capture the spirit of your live performance. Wow! Thanks for the music, man. |

I caught two of your incredible sets at Monterey. How long has your Trio been together? It sounds like you've been playing with each other since birth. Great synergy. |

I discovered you in the late 60ties during a trip with my wife in San franciso and there I bought my first DZ record, it was"Zeitgeist", I still have it. Later I acquired "Carnival" and in Paris some years ago I bought my first CD "Time Remembers Onetime" You are ...probably my preffered Jazz pianist and with internet and the today discovery of your site I will be able to buy more and "surtout" keep in touch with.. you. "C'est merveilleurx et MERCI beaucoup pour votre norme talent" I am sure some body will be able to translate even if its not high end literature. Trs cordiales salutations. Pierre |

Really a superb site! Worth waiting for. As long as you're publishing tributes (it's too long, however), the Dave Winski article in Chicago Jazz Magazine's special JazzFest issue (Sept/Oct 2005) is a winner! |

I have been listening to your music for nearly a quarter century. I could attend your performance when you came to Japan on 1984 with Gary Peacock and Peter Donald. It was an open-air concert at Zojyozi, a Japanese Buddhist temple. I felt really terrified to hear the trio playing. It was my most sensational musical experience. I am very glad to hear you play Cascade in your newest album, because it is a tune that impressed me most at the Zojyozi concert and it is also a tune that I have long wanted to listen to again. I will be excited if you also record Dependence, the other tune that similarly impressed me at your Zojyozi concert. |

Denny: This is a great site! I've been a big fan of your music since the 60s and I'm so glad to see that you've finally got a website worth of your incredible artistry. Looking forward to hearing you at the Chicago Jazz Festival Labor Day weekend. Cheers... |
